Mazda Australia announced that Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) will be available on the All-New BT-50, a move which raises safety standards in the utility segment.
Dynamic Stability Control is already a standard feature on every Mazda passenger car and this announcement signifies a desire to offer utility owners similar levels of safety features to those enjoyed by owners of Mazda passenger cars.
Local testing will ensure that the All-New BT-50’s DSC system is calibrated for the many different driving conditions. With the All-New BT-50 being capable of carrying a wide variety of loads and traversing road surfaces ranging from mud to bitumen, the DSC system has to be able to react in all circumstances.
Calibrating the DSC system to take into account these different conditions presented a challenge as Mazda Australia Engineering and Compliance Manager, Wayne Watson explains.
“If you consider how the All-New BT-50 is likely to be used, it becomes clear just how many situations have to be taken into account to ensure that the Dynamic Stability Control system meets the needs of each and every driver,” he said
“Mazda engineers have spent months calibrating and fine tuning the Dynamic Stability Control system to ensure maximum safety and durability.”
When the All-New BT-50 is launched, it will be the first time that the potentially life- saving technology has been made available to Mazda utility owners.
Mazda Australia Marketing Manager, Alastair Doak believes that the addition of Dynamic Stability Control to the All-New Mazda BT-50 will be well received by Australian new car buyers.
“DSC systems are much more sophisticated now. So Mazda has worked hard to ensure that we offer a new standard of active safety for ute buyers,” he said
“We’ve already shown that the All-New BT-50 will be more comfortable than ever before. So why shouldn’t there also be the expectation that the All-New BT-50 will also offer better safety than ever before?”
The All-New Mazda BT-50 will make its Australian debut in late 2011.
