Jeep Liberty (also sold as the Jeep Cherokee) is a compact SUV from DaimlerChrysler. Liberty was introduced in 2002 with a style inspired by the Dakar and Jeep cars show Forester. Compete with the Toyota RAV4, Ford Escape, Chevrolet Equinox and Nissan Xterra. Liberty was the first jeep to use two new PowerTech engines: A 150 hp 2.4 L I4 and 210 hp 3.7L V6. Despite popular belief, freedom was not the first Jeep vehicle to use an independent suspension, the Jeep Wagoneer first used in 1960.
Brakes 4-wheel disc were added in 2003. For 2005, a 2.8 L VM Motori turbodiesel engine available in the CRD model. While diesel engines are not familiar in the U.S. market, Jeep said they sold 10,000 Liberty CRD models in the first calendar year of sales. Only available is 2005 and 2006, the CRD has since been canceled due to its diesel engine could not meet future emissions.
Liberty has been very successful for Jeep, surpassing the Ford Escape in 2005 to become the best-selling compact SUV in the United States. Liberty 70 percent of buyers are new to the Jeep brand and the Toledo North Assembly plant in Toledo, Ohio is running overtime to produce a model.
Jeep Liberty is designed to actually venture off-road – a trait not shared by many of its lighter competitors car-based SUV. It does so with confidence thanks to the steep approach and departure angles and exceptional suspension travel and articulation. Combined with an independent front suspension and solid rear axle and rack and pinion steering, a new or used Liberty works best for those who want a versatile, user-utility vehicle and a plan to build on the achievements outside the road from time to time.
Disadvantages include the Liberty (diesel version unsecured short-term) “the worst of both worlds”, a combination of performance and fuel economy sad. Furthermore, compared with booths and finishing in jurisdiction, the interior environment of Liberty is best described as Fisher Price, because it is a design exercise in the current hard plastic Jeep Liberty into account the main concerns of the first generation, transmission and better management of the road. It has more space for passengers and offers more convenience features. The cute style of the first freedom has been replaced by a more traditional Jeep look square jaw, and the cabin has more available luxury features, such as wipers, remote start, setting the memory controller and a power sliding sunroof canvas, which allows a large aperture. There is room for rear passengers, thanks to a wheelbase stretched 2 inches.
